Alongside the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute, the Law Society of England and Wales and the Spanish Society for International Human Rights, the BHRC submitted an amicus curiae in the case of Manuel Valle v State of Florida. Despite international efforts to halt Mr Valle's execution, the Supreme Court of the United States denied the petition and he was executed on 29 September 2011.
